Welcome to blomsterbyen.no. On this website, we present Kristiansand as seen by the Parks Department. In addition to guides to our city’s parks and recreational areas, you will also find information about Kristiansand Parks Department, our specialties and areas of responsibility.

With 49 staff, Kristiansand Parks Department manages the city’s recreational areas, parks, playgrounds, and city-owned forests. We are also the responsible unit for the city’s management of farming and forestry, wildlife, fishing and natural conservation.

The Parks Department works closely with local businesses and as a result of this close cooperation Kristiansand won the award for Norway’s best flower city both in 2003 and 2005, finishing second in 2004.
